A former Milwaukee Bucks player, Junior Bridgeman who played for the Bucks back in the 70's is involved in a delicious new venture. Mr. Bridgemann will be involved in the hopeful development of Fannie May Fine Chocolates in Milwaukee. Currently Wisconsin has one in Janesville and Madison.
Do you remember Fanny Farmer stores? This is the same parent company looking to comeback to Milwaukee with the Fanny May Fine Chocolates name. Bridgemann and his partners do not know how many stores they plan on developing but according to the Business Journal Milwaukee is a high priority.
West Bend:
Hobby Lobby an arts and crafts retailer located in West Bend is planning an expansion. A place that already has many customers coming in and out of the store will have even more to offer in their new and larger facility.
Franklin:
Sorry Packer tailgaters. The new Wisconsin law that allows liquor retailers to open the doors at 6AM has not convinced the Franklin Common Council to adopt the new state law. They decided to keep the old hours from 8 AM to 9 PM as their local ordinance.

Continental Surveying Services LLC has been in business since July 10th, 2009. On November 19th 2009 we purchased another land surveying firm that has been a part of the community since the 50's. From our sources, the company we purchased came from; Merlin Capelle who was owner of Capelle & Associates from sometime in the 50's through the 60's. Early in the 70's, Ron Weiss had begun working with Mr. Capelle and eventually bought out Capelle and Associates and created Citizen Weiss Corporation which existed until March of 2006. During that time Citizen Weiss Corporation brokered land developments and the land surveying services through the use of Ron Weiss' real estate broker and land surveying licenses. In March of 2006 Ron sold the surveying part of his business to two of his employees Connie Bader and Bill Holme a registered land surveyor. Using the first initial of their respective last names they came up with "B&H Surveying LLC". Because of a gloomy economy in March of 2009 they closed the doors and put the business up for sale. On November 19th, 2009 Continental Surveying Services LLC bought most of B&H's assets.
Continental Surveying Services LLC is without a doubt is a company that is driven, dedicated, and has a strong will to become successful. From the beginning we have done well and at the same time have encountered obstacles. The love of this industry has propelled us through those obstacles and has brought us to new challenges as well as opportunities and a chance to evaluate and evolve. Our president is just like the “average Joe.” If you ever have the opportunity and the time, sit down with him over a cup of coffee or two and ask him more about our journey and get to know him. You will be glad you did.

Have you ever wondered how some companies come up with a name? Our name is historical to the area we live in. There are 4 Continental Divides in the United States; the Eastern Divide, the Great Divide, the Northern Divide and the St. Lawrence Seaway Divide.

If you have the image open, moving from East to West - The Eastern Divide in Yellow is along the West side of the Carolinas and the Virginia states, and the Great Divide in Red runs along the West side of New Mexico, through Colorado, and the West side of Wyoming, and extends up through Alaska. The Northern Divide in Green runs along the US/Canada border from the Great Divide to North Dakota and continuing diagonally to Fargo and then north of Lake Superior. Finally we come to the St. Lawrence Seaway Divide that runs through our own State of Wisconsin. More specifically it runs through Menomonee Falls, Brookfield, New Berlin and Muskego. Continental Surveying Services LLC was founded in Waukesha County where Menomonee Falls, Brookfield, New Berlin and Muskego are located.
Therefore, because of the location of the Continental divide; the St. Lawrence Seaway, we are Continental Surveying Services LLC.

Our logo has historical significance to it as well. George Washington, the first U.S President since the constitution, paved the way for the profession of Land Surveying. He was appointed as the first county surveyor and in turn became the first Registered County Surveyor in America at the age of 17. He was Surveyor of Culpeper county in West Virginia from 1747 - 1750. Our logo signifies that piece of history; a washed out image of George Washington surveying. As a surveyor he had a reputation in being honest , fair and dependable. At Continental Surveying Services LLC it is our goal to mirror his reputation. As a piece of senseless trivia, if you see our logo tell someone who it is and what it means, maybe they will be impressed.

The people we hire whether they are a sub contractor, an employee, or a consultant of Continental Surveying LLC they must see the value in our service, understand the importance of a client relationship as we define it. From a friendly smile, a warming voice on the phone, the ability to understand people's needs and feel empathetic towards their situation. We hire careers.
Our workforce experience comes from college, computer and customer service backgrounds, business, land surveying, years of working side by side with municipalities, attorneys, architects, engineers and developers.
Our Founder and President Rick Hillmann was born in 1970 in Wauwatosa Wisconsin. He was adopted by a wonderful and beautiful couple Ralph and Sue. He was raised and has lived in Waukesha Wisconsin until he was 41. He has now relocated to Richfield Wisconsin, where Continental Surveying Services LLC operates. He graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1988. His career began in September of 1987 with Jahnke & Jahnke Associates Inc working through the Co-op program at Waukesha South. The rest is history and throughout the years he has gained the knowledge of researching and comprehending Real Estate documents found at county courthouses and city halls. He recognizes what documents are important and where to look for them. With these important documents the true shape of your property can be determined on paper and eventually measured within a hundredth of a foot. For many years Rick has been consulting with Attorney's, Architects, Municipalities, Real Estate developers, Inspectors, and Contractors to assure that the job is done right and on time. Given this experience he understands clients needs and how to go about providing them with the best possible service and is willing to work with clients at any level. His history with past clients proves that he is an asset to your project no matter how small or large it may be.

Focusing on the client and their needs, and our deep rooted love of this industry helps us shape our philosophy. As our client, you essentially define our philosophy based on the service you desire and receive. We believe, "the Client is why we are in business" and not of the theory "We have clients because we are in business."
There are many good businesses out there. And through our direct and indirect encounters with businesses of diverse types, our behind the scenes observations have exposed a huge loss of priority on clients. It seems many business transactions and relationships are based on money and greed, and we have known some that have resulted in lawsuits. Generally speaking, business owners are in business to make money. However when a problem arises with a client or subcontractor, taking a small loss to preserve what may be left of a business relationship and to preserve future referrals, the business relationship retains more value to us than suing a client or subcontractor. We respect you and your opinions and our services and attitudes will show it. We want all clients big and small to feel like they are important and we do this without prejudice to money, personal success or experience in Land Surveying.
We are a Land Surveying business with integrity, professionalism, and it is a behind the scenes goal to follow ALL statutes and codes that govern Land Surveying. It is known that there are some Surveyors who cut corners. To you it may seem like it is an irrelevant matter, however the reality is, if corners are cut and an error has occurred it can become very costly to fight and hopefully fix. Imagine if you bought a piece of property and you thought it was suppose to be 30,000 square feet in size and because a surveyor years ago who cut corners has cheated you out of a few thousand square feet of property.
